Our older son took a spill on his scooter over the weekend, has a nasty scrape on his foot and has been limping ever since. We didn't think too much of it at first, but then realized late today that we should perhaps have it looked at, especially as we're about to take off on a biking holiday.
Enter Vrtucar. It was 6.50pm and I managed to make an appointment to see the doctor at our after hours clinic at 8pm. Given that he's limping and not feeling very comfortable, I couldn't really plan to take him by bike (though, this kid did cycle home about 7.5k from camp today and did a decent job of it). The headcold that has come on for me suddenly also made the prospect of getting to the clinic by bike (about 5km away) unappealing. Okay, time to make a small trip in a Vrtucar.
I logged onto Vrtucar, searched for available cars and booked the one right around the corner from us for 7.30 to 9.30pm. Even though the appointment was for 8pm, when the car is being booked for something unpredictable, it's better to book for longer than you're fairly certain you'll need. Thanks to the appointment going exceedingly quickly (we were out by 8.12pm with a prescription for Fucidin - nothing's broken, but the scrape's a deep one), we were able to use the last hour and a bit to run some errands, and therefore make the most of having the car.
Tomorrow is "take it easy day" so that we're all fit enough for our Nova Scotia cycling holiday at the end of the week.
